In 2022 we moved from Texas to Washington and as part of that have literally “bought the farm.” Golden Point Farms, to be precise. It’s a new business, but located on a property with a commercial greenhouse in which a very successful species orchid business was once run. It is where we now operate an organic market garden sized farm where we focus on offerings that are hard to find in local regular or specialty grocers. More on our specialty produce in a moment, because the next thing we’re excited to work on is a research practice in our farm. As we get the facilities and machinery overhauled and ready for standard operations, we’ll start phasing in our research as well.
Specialty Produce
We love to cook, and we travel the world through food. As such, we frequently found ourselves disappointed in sub-par produce and lack of specialty ingredients. Everything from watery tomatoes to bruised greens and a lack of the proper ingredients like Scotch Bonnets for Jerk, Galangal for Southeast Asian cooking, and countless similar examples. In San Antonio and Dallas we set to resolve this for ourselves and grew our own produce, preserving any extra for the winter. For our move to the PNW, we knew we wanted to expand our quantity, variety, and the weather would let us improve quality.
We operate numerous growing methods for our specialty crops, including:

Before you worry about what sorts of research we intend to perform, rest assured - it’s all based on planning and forecasting. Some focus areas for research we have in mind:

- AI-backed Aquaponics/Grow Media/Lighting design, planning, price modeling, and forecasting
